Description

The bifold, turned the way a book opens.

Most bifolds fold sideways. A vertical wallet folds tall — it opens exactly like a small book, which for a workshop that started out binding books is not a coincidence. The vertical format stacks your cards up instead of across, so the whole wallet rides narrower in the pocket.

The slim bifold wallet, by design. Four card pockets — two per panel — with two full pockets tucked behind them for folded cash, receipts, or the business cards you actually keep. That's six pockets of carry in the footprint of a card case: a slim bifold that holds like a full wallet without sitting like one.

English Bridle leather from Wickett & Craig. Cut from vertical-grain panels of English Bridle tanned by Wickett & Craig of Pennsylvania — at work since 1867. Vegetable-tanned, hot-stuffed with waxes and tallows, it breaks in to your carry and builds a patina no two wallets share.

Handsewn in Texas, the bookbinder's way. Two covers, a spine, contents worth protecting — a vertical leather wallet is the most literal piece of bookbinding we make. Cut, saddle-stitched, and edge-finished in our San Antonio workshop. Made in the USA, start to finish.

What it carries:

  • 4 card pockets (2 per panel)
  • 2 tuck pockets behind the card pockets — folded cash and keepables
  • Dimensions: 3" × 4 13/16" closed · opens like a book to 6" × 4 13/16", 1/4" thin

Make it a monogrammed wallet. Add initials for a personalized vertical card wallet — stamped the way a bookbinder signs a cover. Made to order, final sale.

Vertical Wallet FAQs

What is a vertical wallet?
A bifold turned portrait — the panels stand tall instead of wide, and it opens side-to-side like a small book. Cards sit in vertical pockets, so the wallet is taller and narrower than a standard bifold (3" wide vs 4 1/4"): same capacity, slimmer pocket footprint.

How is it different from your regular bifold?
Same English Bridle, same saddle stitching, same card count. The Leather Bifold Wallet opens side-to-side with a full-width bill compartment; the vertical trades that for two tuck pockets and a narrower profile. Bills fold once more, wallet sits slimmer.

Does it hold cash?
Yes — folded bills tuck into the two rear pockets behind your cards.

Where is it made?
Handsewn in our San Antonio, Texas workshop from Pennsylvania-tanned Wickett & Craig English Bridle. American leather, American hands — made in the USA, start to finish. No imported parts.

Can I monogram it?
Yes — add initials at checkout. Monogrammed wallets are made to order and cannot be returned.
