Description

An Apple Watch band sewn the way we bind books.

This leather Apple Watch band is handsewn in our San Antonio, Texas workshop — the same hands and saddle stitching that have built DODOcase iPad cases since 2010. No machine sewing: two needles, one thread crossing itself through every hole, so the stitch line holds even if a single stitch ever wears through. It's the slow way to make a watch band, and it's why this one outlasts the watch.

English Bridle leather from Wickett & Craig. We cut every band from Chestnut English Bridle tanned by Wickett & Craig of Pennsylvania — America's harness-leather tannery, working hides since 1867. Bridle leather is vegetable-tanned, then hot-stuffed with waxes and tallows: it starts firm, breaks in to your wrist within a week, and darkens into a patina that reads like a record of where you've worn it. It's the same leather we cut our wallets from — bands and billfolds off the same bench.

American hardware, too. The polished steel buckle and Apple Watch adapters come from Buckleguy in Massachusetts, and the adapters click straight into your watch like any Apple band — no tools.

Fits every Apple Watch. Two band sizes cover the full Apple Watch line, Series 1 through the newest — including SE and Ultra:

  • Small — fits 38, 40, 41mm cases & the 42mm on Series 10 and newer
  • Large — fits 44, 45, 46, 49mm (Ultra) cases & the 42mm on Series 3 and older

Apple Watch Band FAQs

Which size fits my Apple Watch?
Check your case size in the Watch app (General → About). 38, 40, and 41mm cases take Small; 44, 45, 46, and 49mm cases take Large. One catch on 42mm: Apple has used "42mm" twice. If your 42mm watch is a Series 3 or older, it's a large case — choose Large. If it's a Series 10 or newer, it's a small case — choose Small.

Does it fit the Apple Watch Ultra?
Yes — the Large size fits Ultra's 49mm case, and English Bridle's weight suits the bigger watch.

What leather is this?
Chestnut English Bridle from Wickett & Craig of Pennsylvania — full-grain, vegetable-tanned harness leather, hot-stuffed with waxes so it wears in instead of wearing out.

How do I care for it?
Mostly, wear it. Keep it out of the shower and pool, wipe with a dry cloth, and condition with a small amount of leather balm once or twice a year. Darkening and sheen aren't wear — that's the patina bridle leather is prized for.

Where is it made?
Handsewn in our San Antonio, Texas workshop from Pennsylvania-tanned leather, with hardware from Buckleguy in Massachusetts.
