Description

The wallet your grandfather would recognize, built like a book.

A leather bifold wallet is the traditional carry — cards in their pockets, cash in the fold, everything in one place. Ours is handsewn from English Bridle the way we've bound books and cases since 2010: two panels, one spine, saddle-stitched so the fold works thousands of times without giving out at the seam.

Four card pockets and a full bill compartment. Two pockets per side, angled for a clean draw, over a full-width compartment that takes bills flat — no folding your cash in thirds. Room for your daily cards plus the ones that only leave the wallet at the DMV.

English Bridle leather from Wickett & Craig. The hides come from Wickett & Craig of Pennsylvania, tanning harness and bridle leather since 1867. English Bridle is a full grain leather, vegetable-tanned and hot-stuffed with waxes — firm on day one, molded to your carry by week two, and better-looking every year after. A full grain leather wallet at year five beats the day you bought it.

Handsewn in Texas, the bookbinder's way. A bifold is two covers and a spine — we've been building exactly that since 2010. Every handmade bifold wallet here is cut, stitched, and edge-finished by the same small team in San Antonio. Made in the USA, start to finish.

What it carries:

  • 4 card pockets (2 per side)
  • Full-width bill compartment — bills lie flat
  • Dimensions: 4 1/4" × 3 1/4" closed · opens to 8 7/16" × 3 1/4"

Make it a monogrammed wallet. Initials pressed into English Bridle, the way bookbinders stamped an owner's name into a cover. A monogrammed men's bifold wallet is the gift that doesn't need a card attached. Made to order, final sale.

Bifold Wallet FAQs

What's the difference between a bifold and a billfold?
Nothing, really — "billfold" is the older word for the same fold-in-half wallet. If you grew up calling it a billfold, this is that, done in bridle leather.

How many cards does it hold?
Four pockets carry four to eight cards comfortably; English Bridle relaxes to your exact carry within a couple of weeks.

Will the fold wear out?
The fold is the whole design, so we build for it: saddle stitching (two needles, one thread crossing itself) holds even if a single stitch ever cuts, and bridle leather is the leather made for flexing — it's what harness and tack are cut from.

Where is it made?
Handsewn in our San Antonio, Texas workshop from Pennsylvania-tanned Wickett & Craig English Bridle. American leather, American hands — made in the USA, start to finish. No imported parts.

Can I monogram it?
Yes — add initials at checkout. Monogrammed wallets are made to order and cannot be returned.

Something slimmer?
See the Vertical Bifold Wallet — same construction, taller fold, slimmer stack — or the flat Front Pocket Wallet.
